Job Title: Manager Business Intelligence
Location: Bangalore
Scope of Work:
This position will be a member of the Strategy & Usage Intelligence and Performance Management Group in the Bangalore Business Intelligence Unit (BBIU) in the AOL Search Group. Business Intelligence is responsible for identifying key business metrics, ensuring that the captured information is relevant to the stated goals of the specific product initiative (or Search product) being measured and, finally, analyzing the results and delivering both a qualitative and quantitative analysis of how the initiative (or Search Product) performed. The Strategy Group in particular focuses on effective use and synthesis of data to promote informed long- and short-term strategic decision making.
The Search domain knowledge gleaned from managing the above responsibilities will be further utilized to provide added insight to various functional groups as they assess and measure the success of their own deliverables and projects.
Key responsibilities include:
Provide day-to-day management, mentoring, and motivation of existing BBIU staff, including work-flow management.
Serve as liaison between BBIU staff and U.S. Search and Business Intelligence management and staff and as liaison between Business Intelligence team (U.S. and India) and various India groups.
Represent BBIU in all India-related functions, including, but not limited to, human resources, training, development and recognition.
Provide the business analytic horsepower to help assess and drive initiatives that are critical to the ongoing growth of the Search business.
Lead strategic and operational initiatives revolving around accurate data mining, warehousing, reporting and AOL Search Group messaging.
Develop strategic initiatives to promote thorough and proactive use and development of all data sources.
Assist in the management of the AOL Search Group’s multiple data sources (Internal, Outsourced, Partner and Secondary Research), while providing insight to their relative effect on each other across common metrics or data points.
Assume responsibility for analytical projects, data management and warehousing output of BBIU.
Ideal background/requirem ents:
Experience working with MNC/American companies (preferably some U.S.-based work experience) and an excellent understanding of both American and Indian work culture.
Ability to manage, develop, motivate and mentor existing staff.
Excellent conceptual and analytical abilities.
Ability to prioritize new requests and projects with existing work flow in fast-changing environment.
Functional knowledge in Web analytics, data mining, statistical analysis, forecasting and decision support.
Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders and customer so that roles, responsibilities, dependencies and work processes are clearly articulated and understood.
Ability to establish and execute a vision by setting up, developing and executing on strategies by establishing milestones and measuring results.
Experienced in BI / analytical tools such as SAS, Business Objects, Ab-Initio and Informatica.
Minimum BS degree, MBA or equivalent preferred.
