Purpose of Job:
To conduct research, sourcing, selection, structuring and placement of Private Equity and Real Estate funds and structures on Indian and international markets.
Background:
Indian venture capital, private equity and real estate industry has been in the limelight in the global investment space over the last two years. Several large and small institutions, corporate, entrepreneurs, private equity and real estate teams have launched or have plans to launch venture capital and private equity funds in the domestic onshore as well as offshore markets to tap into this opportunity and to cash in on their expertise in this sector. By the end of 2008 this venture capital and private equity funds business is expected to be in the tune of more than USD 40 billion.

ICICI Bank has emerged over the last couple of years as the largest placement agent for Indian real estate and private equity funds. The team at ICICI Bank has developed deep relationships with almost all top fund managers in this space and has also developed world class due diligence and selection process to identify and offer the best-of-breed funds to its sophisticated individual and institutional clients across the globe.

Considering the significance of this business and the exciting opportunities that lie ahead, the Bank has decided to scale up this team. The next horizon is to increase the depth in research and due diligence process, enhance the level of controls on the investee funds, penetrate new client bases through in-house global relationship network as well as through third party intermediaries and set-up similar shops on other foreign VC & PE markets. This is a unique opportunity to become a part this exciting set-up, to scale it up to global standards and attain challenging targets that lie ahead.

Key Responsibilities:
· Help scale-up, manage and drive the business and the investment selection process
· Identifying investment opportunities using research and market intelligence
· Complete due diligence on, negotiate on all terms and manage relationships with fund managers
· Securing approvals on selected funds from the Investment Committee
· Work on marketing, promotion, positioning and distribution plans along with the fund manager and the sales channels
· Work with, support and drive the sales channels for fund raising
· Industry networking to be up-to-date on all deal flows, fund flows, trends and all other related business and regulatory information
· Maintaining investor relations through in-house relationship teams and channel partners, including regular interactions with high net worth individuals and institutional investors across the globe
· Coordinate and work with in-house support groups and external counsels
· Working on innovative structured solutions to satisfy unique requirements of high net worth individual and institutional clients

Qualifications:
· Qualified MBA or CA
· Experience of up to 2 years
· Basic understanding of the Indian equity markets and the venture capital and private equity markets
· Experience in adding value to companies, funds or in venture capital or private equity projects will be an advantage
· Investment banking or venture capital/private equity research or advisory experience will be an advantage
· Experience in equity research and selection across sectors will be an advantage
· Experience in product team / strategy team of AMCs or brokerage houses or banks would be an advantage
