banks. All
people from the new entrant to the director are called 'Analysts'.

nomenclature that would give you a comparison with the other
departments is:

(around 3
yrs), VP (around 3-4 yrs) and Director.
* Hires would work under a lead analyst on a particular sector.
You would
work closely with the analyst on building models, valuations, reports
etc.
Regular work would involve quarterly result updates, short notes on
news flow,
attending analyst conference calls etc. Non-recurring work would
include
company coverage initiations, specific client requests etc.
* Would be given independant coverage from associate level
upwards.

* Sound concepts from FIN 1 & 2, Manac, MACR, IPM etc. (wouldn't
be using much of FORM)
* Familiarity with Excel
* Ability to understand the dynamics of the sector you study (not
only the
financial aspects, the other aspects like level of competition,
regulatory
environment, issues in the sector etc).

What you get:

* An opportunity to work with one of the fastest growing and
exciting
equities team in India.
* An opportunity to get independant reserach coverage in 3 yrs
(or earlier,
depending on your performance)
* Compensation that is the best in the industry.

An average day at office is 12 hrs long, with occasional work on
weekends (say
once a month). Only interested candidates need to apply.

As a point of reference, I am a research associate working on the
Indian IT and
telecom sectors for the past 18 months (since coming out of campus).
Along with
my lead analyst, I have 12 stocks under coverage.
