Asst Product Manager - Xbox Live (Most Important area), Games for Windows, Xbox 360, Xbox 1st Party Games, Peripherals & Accessories

Description of Purpose
Job's Purpose
Develop and execute Product management plans to achieve revenue and market share goals for Xbox Live, Xbox 1st Party Games, on Xbox and Xbox 360 and also Games for Windows (PC Games). Launch Xbox Live in India and engage with the respective partners to sustain the service on an ongoing basis.

This role is responsible for developing and executing marketing plans that continue to transform and unite Xbox 360 game communities in India through the Xbox Live service. Xbox Live has a global community of more than 6 million members. The person shall be the pivot of all LIVE related planning and execution.

Responsibility/ Activity Estimated Annual % of Time
Development and/or localization of product marketing plans for each product in the portfolio in conjunction with Product Marketing manager including key business objectives, strategies and tactics for implementation that drive to achievement of business goals - 25%
Implementation of marketing plans through agencies including public relations, advertising, sales promotion, xbox.com/in, sponsorships, events, CRM to achieve maximum efficiency from marketing budget for Xbox Live. - 25%
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all internal stakeholders including Entertainment & Devices Division Sales, Operations and Finance teams, & Regional counterparts. - 10%
Responsible for the completion of business planning activities for input to Xbox and Entertainment & Devices Division. Review on monthly, quarterly and annual business planning cycles. Ongoing monitoring and analysis of market share and revenue performance and accuracy in monthly forecasting to ensure effective inventory management for Xbox Live & other key products in the portfolio. - 25%
Serve as key product evangelist (internal and external) to internal Microsoft teams and retailers, press, consumers. - 15%

Role in Business Process : Description of Role/Responsibility
Results : Responsible for the achievement of revenue for Xbox 360, Xbox 1st Party Games & most importantly Xbox Live and PC Games.
Position scope : Xbox Live Marketing role, responsible for the development of the product portfolio for the Indian domestic marketplace within retail channel
Decision making : Asst Product Marketing manager will be responsible for setting and implementing local marketing plans and strategy for the Xbox 360, Xbox 1st Party Games & most importantly Xbox Live and PC Games.
Strategy and Development : Define appropriate market mix and build plans that span the marketing mix, including public relations, advertising, promotion, sponsorship, events, online, CRM. Product marketing plans will include key business objectives, strategies and tactics for implementation that drive to achievement of business goals
People Management : Manage external relationships with services agencies to achieve maximum value from marketing budget
Manage internal relationships with Marketing Team (Press Office, Digital Lifestyle Team, Group Assistant, Sponsorship/ Events).
Communication/ Business Relationships : Develop and execute promotional plans in conjunction with Product Marketing Manager, and Marketing Manager, EDD.
Internal - Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Sub & Regional counterparts, Operations, Legal, Finance and Sales
Fiscal Responsibilities : Responsible for the achievement of revenue targets for Xbox Live and to manage within the allocated marketing budget.


Candidate Profile
Description of What's Needed
Experience
· Five years marketing experience with 3 years in Product Marketing Management.
· Experience in one or more of a/ The video gaming industry b/ youth marketing, c/ consumer marketing d/ retail marketing e/ online services f/ music or g/ movie industry

Experience with managing product portfolio through external agencies is essential for this role. The person should ideally be a gamer.

Education

Field of Study (if applicable): Marketing/Commerce or related business degree

Professional Training and Certification
· Strong Product Marketing experience.
· Candidates must have excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to analyze and interpret market research and financial data.
· Must be an effective market strategist with the ability to understand and articulate key opportunities

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Knowledge of the Gaming industry is MUST
· Knowledge of all marketing concepts fundamental to the role of Product Management (e.g. Pricing, Portfolio Management, Financial Analysis, Advertising and Promotions)
· Ability to perform business analysis
· Ability to perform market analysis
· Ability to determine and implement appropriate marketing plan and strategy
· Ability to plan marketing events
· Ability to effectively manage a marketing budget
· Knowledge of retail, music or movie industry
· Ability to conduct effective presentations to all levels of clients

External : Candidate could come from Gaming background, with strong knowledge of product portfolio management and promotional disciplines & knowledge of retail, music, movie, telecom, Entertainment or online services industry would be very beneficial.
