Job Description
The Senior Manager – Research is responsible for managing Gurgaon based Investment Research Support teams of about 15-30 people. The role requires working closely with investment staff (associates, analysts and fund managers in London and Asia Pacific Offices) and ensuring delivery of equity research support used in the investment decision-making process. The services include industry research, accounting and valuation analysis, company research and information services. The role though based in Gurgaon is a global one.

The incumbent should be able to manage client relationships with leadership in investment offices, fund managers and analysts and be able to market services of the team. He should be able to set standards of research for timely deliveries and quality and drive the team to delivery and provide in-depth analysis in support of industry reviews, including drivers and revenue and expense, assessment of business model and valuation.

Key Responsibilities:
· Manage India based Research Support teams of about 15-30 people
· Ensure delivery of equity research support used in the investment decision-making process including services such as industry research, accounting and valuation analysis, company research and information services.
· Develop and manage client relationships with leadership in investment offices, fund managers and analysts and be able to market services of the team
· Set standards for timely deliveries and quality and drive the team to delivery and provide in-depth analysis
· Making presentations to the team on any latest research or other relevant topics.
· Coaching, mentoring, training and development of team members including performance appraisals and development plans.
· Guide the teams’ output through content expertise
· Represent the team to showcase the teams’ abilities to a wider audience at different forums.


Key Skills/Experience
· 6 - 9 years work experience - in captive / 3rd party investment research support functions managing teams of 15+ people
· MBA from prominent institute or CA or CFA or Masters in Finance
· Leadership and managerial skills
· Coaching and mentoring skills - the role will involve mentoring, guiding and training
· Financial Skills - good understanding of financial statements, ratios and valuation concepts
· Knowledge of equity markets - sectors, constituents, drivers, dynamics, trends and indicators
· Analytical / Problem solving skills - to analyse and interpret large amounts of data
· Database skills - Bloomberg, Datastream, Factiva, Reuters and other financial databases
· Good relationship management and networking skills
· Strong presentation and communication skills
