Job Purpose

To drive aggressive and profitable growth of budgeted business volumes in the city / area through an optimum usage of the channel mix.


Key Operational Risk Management and Assurance

1. To undertake periodic self-assessment on key controls to assess the proper functioning and adequacy of existing controls.

2. Assist in coordinating, facilitating and promoting understanding of operational risk and in implementation and management of OR within the Unit.

Key Responsibilities

1. Area Plan – The role holder would be required to derive their area business from the national plans. This would involve

- Implementing a healthy channel mix that will deliver the budgeted numbers.

- Competitor tracking and suggesting a proactive approach to gain market share

- Cost and resource allocation for the areas.


2. Business Acquisition – The role holder would be accountable for driving volume growth in the area . This would involve

- Achieving the budgeted product volumes in terms of acquisition of new accounts and retention of old accounts

- Closely monitoring the cost of acquisition from each channel and keeping it at budgeted levels.

- Monitoring DSR productivity and expansion of manpower linked to productivity.


3. Implementing sales processes and regulatory requirements –The role holder would be responsible for implementing the sales processes as per DSR policy and group standards. This would involve

- Educating the team members on the policy requirements.

- Ensure and check the group policies and standards are being implemented at the ground level.

- Ensuring the recommended process of appointment, management and review of DSA- IM and DSA- DM is being followed with appropriate documentation of the same.

- Training of the DSRs on misselling, AML, and other customer protection principles.

- Ensure that Mis-selling and PI is minimal.


4. Fraud Control - The role holder would be responsible for a implementing the fraud control system. This would involve

- Implementing the Fraud Control System as defined by Sales Governance.

- Ensure the defined escalation mechanism is followed and appropriate disciplinary process as defined should be implemented.

- Analyse the trends emerging from the Fraud Control and taking corrective action.

5. Sales Team Management – The role holder would be responsible for building a strong sales team. This would require approach. This would involve

- Controlling attrition of the frontline sales force.

- Recognize and reward the top performers.

- Training and development of the team members.


6. Key Operational Risk Management and Assurance Responsibilities


1. To report Unit's OR issues and losses to UORM

2. To assist UORM in developing and updating of procedures, controls and monitoring plans for Operational Risk Management

3. Act as OR coordinator for the section

4. To adhere to the agreed KCSA plans and approach

5. To identify and report all exceptions on non compliance with standard controls

6. To identify and report all weaknesses inherent in the standard controls

7. To maintain proper record keeping on all KCSA related activities

8. To maintain independence in the conduct of KCSA, i.e. not selecting and reviewing sample of self-performed transactions

9. To act as a back up RP for another RP if required.

10. To act as a back up for the UORM if required.

• No overdue KCSA

• Non compliance and control weaknesses inherent in the selected samples are detected and duly reported

• No unsatisfactory compliance reviews and audits on the conduct of KCSA and record keeping

• Maintaining robust controls and monitoring actions.

Knowledge/Skills/ Behaviour
- Post-graduate degree in business management

- 6 – 9 years of relevant experience in a sales set up in a financial services , FMCG or consumer durable

- High on influencing and negotiation

- Strong analytical skills
