Brief introduction about the group: Benetton Group Worldwide has four major brands, United Colors of Benetton, Sisley, Killer Loop and Playlife and operates in 120 coutries across the World. UCB has been in India for close to 17 years and is the best performing brand in almost every market of India where it is present in, Sisley has been launched last September and Playlife will be launched in Spring Summer 08. India is the fastest growing market for Benetton Worldwide and hence a lot of attention and focus is given to India Operations. India office looks after business operations of 14 countries which includes SAARC, South East Asia and Australia.

Job Description
Role - Manager- Commercial Planning & New Projects ( SAARC,South East Asia, Australia & India)
Defining and managing the ways and means to enhance the brand performance( meeting Growth/Bottomline
expectations) and the learning/competencies within the Retail, Buying,Marketing ,Supply Chain,Product and
Financial Budgeting and Control functions.
Career Path - With a clear agenda to move into the line function in the middle/senior management team within
24-36 months based on the capabilities and interests into either the" Retail" or the "Marketing" function.
Reporting to the Managing Director
Scope of Operations
Brands - UCB,012,Sisley,Playlife
Markets - India, South East Asia, Australia & SAARC Region
Defining an entry and growth strategy into these markets and finding the right franchisee partners for the brand
Licensing opportunities in new markets, existing countries
Licensing opportunities in new products and existing product lines
Working closely and assisting the Commercial Director in the following;
Operational Management
Brand Mix definition across categories-working out revenue mix/profitabiltiy across categories
Governing the sanctity of the Sales forecast across categories/across price points/across seasons
Tracking the key commercial financial drivers, store profitability, sell through, expenses, depreciation etc.
Width vs depth-SKU ceiling based on empirical analysis/trade offs-costs/benefits
Identifying and Prioritizing market share increasing opportunities
Strategic Brand Management
Aligning the consumer requirement with design on interpreting fashion trends in the context of the brand
Alignment with sales/reail to review re-engineer the channel strategy based on channel profitability
Leveraging key customer insights to extend brand meaningfully and relevantly across categories
to drive the brand development,merchandize,communication and retailing strategies-
Industry Best Practices/Costs/Business Processes-Monitoring/Benchmarking;both local and global
Brand Boundaries vis-à-vis fabric/categories
Strategic
Evaluating and constantly reviewing the sales and the mix to deliver a better Gross Margin and therefore better and sharper pricing strategy
Evaluating entry strategy into new markets and the channel mix between own retail or department stores.
e.g. - Developing and planning a quick response model to service the market and customers closer to the season.
Reviewing/Analysing the current brand processes in order to make them more competitive and redesign them to create unique capabilities
eg-merchandize segmentation,classification-core,regulars,collections-concept of monthly collections,forecasting process for promoted
non-promoted products.
Business intelligence and consumer feedback process management, e.g. making recommendations on the loyalty program database
after getting insights from the marketing team
