Internet Venture

Aas part of its aggressive growth strategy is planning significant investments in building a robust Internet business recognizing the importance of Internet as the most important media vehicle of the future. It already has a successful news portal which was ranked 4th best new-site in the world by Forbes. It was also ranked technologically the number one Indian news-site by PC-World.

The big initiatives in next few months will be launching state-of-the- art portals in various business opportunities in the internet space. We are working with a global technology provider for some of the above initiatives.

The core Internet Strategy Team already has some truly global talent on board.

Job Description
We are looking for an experienced marketing professional to provide strategic leadership, and analytic direction to our Internet business group.

The person in this role will manage cross-functional marketers to maximize profit through the Category.

As a key member of the Marketing team, you will develop and execute strategies to directly impact the critical business metrics of acquisition, user engagement, and retention.

This challenging assignment will span a wide range of responsibilities, from developing innovative, right priced products, to measuring our success using web analytic tools, finding ways of creating traffic and traction to their site, building and moderating content, translating research insights from the Marketing Services team into market winning strategies, forecasting and budgeting, and helping the sales organization to meet those budgets.

Responsibilities
a.. Ensuring that the Category meets its revenue and number targets as per Business Plan (P&L)
b.. Identifying the best performing targets based on demographic, interest, and behavioral profiles; forecasting and budgeting based on above.
c.. Defining Site Marketing strategies for the category, including developing a clear positioning in the market space, specifying and exploiting the USP.
d.. Building up products for all customer segments, along with their pricing and marketing strategies, monthly revenue and targets on each, along with promotions and schemes.
e.. Launch product variants to help capture a leadership position in the market
f.. Leading a Web traffic management team
g.. Working with the Marketing Services team to develop communication strategy and assist in fine tuning the same as and if needed
h.. Leading a team of content developers
i.. Working closely with all Sales Teams to ensure common vision
j.. Enabling the Sales organization to deliver an effective performance by
k.. Building a competitive map of the market working closely with the Market Research team and continuously updating same

Functional Skills
a.. This is a role that requires sound marketing knowledge and experience.
b.. Should be comfortable with Internet
c.. Strong Product marketing background.
d.. Passion for analyzing products, customers and market dynamics.
e.. Experience of forecasting, budgeting and developing business plans would be a positive
f.. Talent to build and enthuse a team of young energetic professionals to perform in a start-up environment
g.. The knack to think creatively & strategically, as well as aptitude to manage the delivery of assignments on schedule
h.. Ability to relate & interact effectively with senior mgmt
i.. Ability to multi-task, work to deadlines and adapt quickly to changing circumstances, while remaining effective under pressure
j.. Willingness and ability to travel extensively
k.. Experience of working in the Media business/Internet is not essential
