Job Description
We are looking for an experienced sales professional to set up and lead the sales offices and operations across locations.

Responsibilities
The main areas of responsibilities for this role are detailed under:

1.. Strategy formulation and Planning:
1.. Participate in the setting of the Strategy of the Internet business as part of the company's leadership Team.
2.. Formulate and implement a long-term sales strategy and short term plans for the Internet sales team and ensure that this is in line with the overall business plans.
3.. Prepare annual budget for sales and sales support activities, track variances, analyse causes to ensure adherence to budget.
4.. Determine product pricing, discount schemes and credit policy for the product offerings.


2.. Sales Infrastructure:
1.. Spearhead the initiative to set up sales offices in various locations (Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkatta, Pune, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad).
2.. Lead the process of site selection, determine manpower profiles needed for various sales positions across regions, lead the recruitment of sales team.


3.. Customer Account Management:
1.. Identify and build alliances with business partners, both corporate and retail.
2.. Provide direction in the development of sales pitches and proposals.
3.. Track and facilitate ongoing business partnerships. Manage customer expectations and resolve customer issues.
4.. Facilitate the process of credit collections


4.. Business Development:
1.. Gather business intelligence and monitor competitive offerings in order to reposition/ redesign/ introduce offerings. Provide information to and collaborate with Marketing in order to design initiatives to enhance business.
2.. Leverage existing relationships, negotiate with prospective partner in order to enhance market penetration and revenues.
3.. Identify new and prospective customers, initiate and develop alternative sources of content to increase business.


5.. Distribution Management & Enhancement
Liaise with external stakeholders (agents/ franchisees/ cafés) and build partnerships in order to enhance distribution and product reach.

6.. People management:
1.. Performance Management
i. Allocate accounts and responsibilities, assign targets and monitor performance of the Key accounts and Retail accounts sales team to ensure that sales targets are met.

ii. Provide guidance, act as a mentor to the sales team to enhance/develop their skills and quality of work.

2.. Training and Development
i. Identify and analyse training needs of the sales workforce

ii. Work in consultation with the HR team at the corporate to design and roll out training initiatives, both inhouse and through external consultants

Functional Skills
a.. Understanding of own and competitive products
b.. Some understanding of the internet industry
c.. Sound sales and operations knowledge and experience.
d.. Familiarity with Distribution Management
e.. Knowledge of forecasting, budgeting and developing business plans would be a positive

a.. Team management skills to build and enthuse a team of young energetic professionals to perform in a start-up environment
b.. Analytical skills for analyzing products, customers and market dynamics.
c.. Project Management Skills
d.. Communication skills to be able to relate & interact effectively with senior management and customers/ vendors/ internal team.

a.. Willingness to travel extensively
b.. Experience of working in the Media business/Internet is not essential

Experience
11 - 14 years

Education
MBA from Premier Institute, Engineering background preferred
