Description of job: Sr. Manager, New BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT***(We are also seeking a Manager level role as well, which is a dialed down version of the requirements below)****
The New BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT team is responsible for fosteringinnovation and nurturing the growth of new business opportunitiesacross a range of emerging sectors—social networking, m-commerce andbanking, LBS, search and advertising among others—by structuring andexecuting strategic partnerships.
The Sr. Manager, New BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT will serve as the externalface of T-Mobile to a mix of strategic partners ranging from majorinternet and content portals to entrepreneurs and start-ups. This person will help develop and drive partnerships and product strategyin sectors vital to T-Mobile's core strategy. As such, this rolewill receive visibility at the highest levels of the organizationand has the opportunity to drive meaningful, business-impactingresults.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and research new business opportunities across the breadthof T-MobileStructure strategic partnerships and new business relationshipsincluding development of key economic, business, and operationalterms as well as negotiation and execution of these partnerships andtheir evolution over time
- Strategic analysis—economic/ financial, customer and marketopportunities, key players and technologies, potential businessmodels, T-Mobile fit—of a multitude of sectors and domains
- Develop deep domain expertise in emerging sectors vital to T-Mobile's core strategy – such as social networking, LBS, search,advertising, content and infotainment, etc. Help inform and shaperelevant sector strategies and product roadmaps
- Build relationships with key players—both established and emerging—within key sectors and ecosystems
- Lead reviews of new opportunities, technologies, potential partners,across internal functional teams
- Record of success in sourcing, structuring, and executing majorbusiness partnershipsExceptionally strong strategic, industry, and financial/economicanalysis skills
- Keen business acumen – understanding of multiple business models andtheir key leversSound technical foundation – understanding of key wireless andinternet technologies
- Significant experience building and maintaining strong businessrelationships with VP+ -level within and across T-Mobile businessunits and partner companies
- Strong cross-functional experience with technical operations,finance, product development, marketing and other partner groups·
- 3-5 years strategic BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT, product planning, orrelated· 5-7 years of industry and financial/economic analysis preferablyin consumer-focused high-tech (internet/new media, wireless,entertainment/ content, etc.)·
- Technical undergrad (engineering, math, hard sciences, economics,etc.) preferred-
- MBA preferred (STRONG preference for elite/top tier MBAs fromChicago, Stanford, Wharton, etc.)-
