For a south based Retail hypermarket chain, we are looking for a head of merchandising with over 10 years of experience in any of the following categories: food/ home needs/apparel.
KRAs are:
o Procurement Planning
o Interaction with and Evaluation of Vendor
o Inventory Management
o Is reliable and resolves problems in a timely and accurate manner
o Has a "can do" mentality
o Demonstrates ownership of tasks and whole job responsibilities
o Creates an environment that inspires people to excel
o Target Sectors: Retail, FMCG, Apparels. The client would be very keen to have people from Asia region who have worked for larger retails.
o Sound experience in Material planning, Inventory control & cost reduction
o Strong Vendor management skills
o Ability to control cost
o Ability to identify and rectify inefficiency in inventory management
Responisbilities
o Over all experience Purchasing, Import, International Sourcing and development of local and International Vendors
o Category role definition
o Working capital usage & inventory norms
o Developing key business evaluation matrixes
o Developing systems to reduce cost without compromising upon the quality
o Meeting sales and margin targe
to Private label strategy
o Resolve conflicts collaboratively, building consensus and keeping the best interest of the organization in mind while balancing the need for resolution in a timely manner.
