We have an opening for Group Leader - Business Analytics & Research unit in one of our client companies in Bangalore.
Our client is one of the largest investment companies in the United States with over $1.1 trillion of assets under management. It is a privately held company, owned by its employees. It has strong revenue and asset growth, supported by marketing and distribution prowess, as well as very strong systems, trading and issuer access. Research forms a core part of its overall investment approach.
The Business Analytics & Research (BA&R) unit provides research and analytics services for our client’s US businesses in the areas of: Investment Research, Database Modeling & Marketing Sciences and Business Intelligence & Marketing Services (BI&MS).
BI&MS comprises:
Business Intelligence: In-depth secondary and primary assessment of competitor businesses, plans, services and performance
Decision Support: Participate in international teams to solve significant business problems or launch new business initiatives
Marketing support: Provide collateral and design support to marketing teams through newsletters, pitch-books, site design, AV’s etc
The BI&MS team at the end of 2006 is 20 people.
Job Description:
Lead the total BI&MS capability – build the team as a partner and solution provider for their US businesses in a high growth environment
Arrive at strategy for BI&MS growth, on going delivery and continuous improvement in conjunction with overall Business Analytics & Research and their India strategies
Maintain ongoing engagement with US based business partners to ensure alignment of BI&MS team delivery with their business goals – identify opportunities to scale up engagement and deliver
Manage team aspirations and goals. Ensure continual development of domain and contextual skills of team members. Develop talent.
Partner with support functions (training, HR, Risk, etc.) to build out required enabling capabilities
Enhance own knowledge of partners’ businesses and domain
Take on other responsibilities as a member of BA&R leadership team and their India Extended Leadership Team
Experience and Qualifications:
Post-graduate college degree (strong preference for MBA from reputed school) and 9-12 years of experience in related practices/ businesses, like consulting practices, strong marketing services firms, (especially in financial services arena), market or general research firms, major financial services companies. Experience of working in US markets or for US clients preferred.
Skills/Knowledge
Ability to lead team of experienced marketing and graphic design professionals
Ability to work in unstructured environment and drive to make it large established practice in corporate environment
Experience in delivery to client specs, reporting and analysis design
Strong client relationship skills, including written and oral presentation skills
Marketing / Financial Services background a plus.
Good marketing judgment and ability to recognize business implications of data.
